Klipstone keeps what a video actually contains — a recipe, an address, a tip — and gives it back to you, sorted. Here is exactly what data that takes, and where it goes.

Klipstone is published by Richard Borer. For any question or request about your data: contact@klipstone.app.
Your sign-in identity. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive an account identifier and your email address. We never receive your password, nor the contents of your Google or Apple account.
The links you share. The address of the video you send to Klipstone, and what the analysis extracts from it: title, summary, ingredients, a place’s address, the steps of a tutorial.
The photos you choose to send. Only the ones you select yourself. Klipstone never browses your photo library.
Your location, if you allow it. Only at the moment you take a photo inside the app, and only to tell apart two places that share a name in two cities. The permission is optional: refuse it and everything else still works.
A device identifier for notifications. It is used to tell you when an analysis is ready, and for nothing else.
No payment data: Klipstone handles none.
No advertising tracking, no advertising identifier, no profiling. The app contains no ad network.
No address book, no browsing history, and nothing from your photo library beyond the images you send.
Your data serves one purpose: running the service you asked for — analysing a video, sorting what it contains, giving it back to you across your devices. The legal basis is the performance of our agreement when you use the app; for location and notifications it is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time in your phone’s settings.
We sell no data and rent none. Running the service does require providers, who receive strictly what they need:
Google Cloud and Firebase — hosting, database, authentication and notifications. Data is stored in the European Union (region europe-west1).
Anthropic (Claude) — analysing a video’s content. The transcript is sent; your identity is not.
Supadata — retrieving a video’s transcript from its public address.
Google Places and Google Maps — details of a place mentioned in a video: address, opening hours, rating.
Each acts on our behalf and may not use this data for its own purposes.
When you share a klip, a collection or an itinerary, we create a link carrying a long, unguessable token. The page is public to whoever holds the link, is not indexed by search engines, and carries neither your name, nor your email address, nor your accommodation’s address. You can revoke the link at any time from the app: the page then stops opening immediately.
Your klips and collections stay as long as you keep them. You can delete any one of them at any time, and delete your whole account from the app — account, klips, collections, photos and device identifiers are then erased within thirty days, the time technical backups take to expire.
You may request access to your data, its correction, its erasure, its portability, or object to a processing. The app already lets you export and delete your data without writing to us; for anything else, write to contact@klipstone.app. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.
Klipstone is not directed at children under thirteen and does not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has sent us any, write to us and we will delete it.
If this policy changes materially, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect. The revision date at the top of this page states the version in force.
